Beyond your elegant private room and ensuite, you’re invited to make yourself at home in the Burns Sitting Room and adjoining foyer. Here, a well-equipped kitchenette awaits, complete with an instant hot water tap, filtered water, complimentary tea and coffee, and a microwave—exclusively for our in-house guests.

Enjoy a quiet drink or conversation on the private rear verandah or beneath the pergola, overlooking a serene stone fountain and the tranquil sound of cascading water. Borton Chamber
Whether you’re visiting Ōamaru for business or treating yourself to a relaxing escape, the Borton Chamber offers a refined and restful retreat. Named in honour of John Borton—prominent Maerewhenua run holder and custodian of Casa Nova House from 1875 to 1911—this room reflects the legacy of the estate’s storied past.
Situated within the Noble Wing, the Chamber features a sumptuous king-sized bed and a striking Ōamaru stone feature wall illuminated by soft LED lighting—inviting you to fully immerse yourself in the heritage charm and timeless atmosphere of Casa Nova House.
Check in is from 3pm and check out is prior to 10:30am. All stays include a beautifully prepared breakfast each morning, featuring a chef-crafted hot menu along with a selection of refined continental offerings.
McMullan Chamber
Step into the McMullan Chamber, where heritage elegance is beautifully paired with contemporary comfort. Named in honour of James McMullan—a goldminer who purchased Casa Nova House in the 1930s—and his wife Helen, who lovingly raised their family here until 1961, this room pays tribute to their significant chapter in the home’s history.
Located within the Noble Wing, the Chamber offers a choice of a luxurious super king bed or two king singles, complemented by an Ōamaru stone viewing niche and enchanting sea vistas. A statement chandelier adds a touch of refined glamour, while the private ensuite features a spacious tiled shower and thoughtful lighting for quiet moments of evening reading.

Graham Chamber
Step into the Graham Chamber, where the rich character of Casa Nova House meets contemporary sophistication. Named in tribute to Christine and Dave Graham—visionaries who breathed new life into the estate in 1966 and graciously opened it as a beloved reception venue by 1968—this room celebrates their enduring spirit of warmth and welcome.
Thoughtfully appointed with a sumptuous super king bed (or two king singles), the Chamber also boasts a private balcony with sweeping sea views—an ideal spot for a quiet morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. A generously sized ensuite with a large tiled shower completes this serene retreat, blending elegance and indulgence in perfect harmony.

Terms & Conditions
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations outside 14 days from arrival will be free of charge. Cancellations 7 days from arrival date will be charged 50% of the total booking. Inside 7 days, the booking will be non-refundable.
Child Policy
The historic nature and layout of Casa Nova House means the first floor is not child friendly, so we only welcome children above the age of 18 to stay. Children of any age are welcomed as guests for private events and functions in our dining room with supervision. Please contact us if you wish to discuss or have any questions regarding our policy as we take everyone's safety very seriously.
Disabled Access
Due to the heritage status of Casa Nova House, all guest rooms are located on the first floor, which is accessible only via stairs. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer wheelchair or disabled access to the accommodation level, as the original staircase cannot be altered.
However, we do provide disabled access to our ground floor function area and accessible bathroom facilities on the ground level. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and are happy to assist with any questions or alternative recommendations to ensure all guests feel welcome and supported.
Housekeeping
At Casa Nova House, we’re committed to doing our part for a more sustainable future. As part of our Conserving for Tomorrow initiative, we operate a three-night linen and towel change policy to help reduce water consumption and chemical use.
Of course, fresh towels or linen can be provided earlier upon request—your comfort is our priority. Please rest assured that all guest rooms are hygienically cleaned, and all linens are freshly changed between guests to ensure the highest standard of cleanliness and care.
