Guests can also unwind on the private rear verandah or beneath the pergola, which overlooks a stone fountain offering the soothing sound of cascading water. Or, for those seeking a quiet moment, grab a book and a beanbag and explore the serenity of our sprawling heritage grounds.

The historic nature and layout of Casa Nova House means the first floor is not child friendly, so we only welcome children above the age of thirteen to stay. Children of any age are welcomed as guests for private events and functions in our dining room with supervision. Please contact us if you wish to discuss or have any questions regarding our policy as we take everyone's safety very seriously.
Due to the heritage status of Casa Nova House, all guest rooms are located on the first floor, which is accessible only via stairs. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer wheelchair or disabled access to the accommodation level, as the original staircase cannot be altered.
However, we do provide disabled access to our ground floor function area and accessible bathroom facilities on the ground level. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and are happy to assist with any questions or alternative recommendations to ensure all guests feel welcome and supported.
At Casa Nova House, we’re committed to doing our part for a more sustainable future. As part of our Conserving for Tomorrow initiative, we operate a three-night linen and towel change policy to help reduce water consumption and chemical use.
Of course, fresh towels or linen can be provided earlier upon request—your comfort is our priority. Please rest assured that all guest rooms are hygienically cleaned, and all linens are freshly changed between guests to ensure the highest standard of cleanliness and care.
Wonderful space
and delightful owners
"It's a fabulous building, wonderfully restored. While it looks like a space from another era, the amenities (bathrooms for instance) are 100% current and super comfortable. A great combination. Welcoming owners helped us book things (or did for us), were super friendly, and made a wonderful breakfast. We loved it and would absolutely come back."

Luxurious Hidden Gem
"I booked this over a year ago - a 1 night stay with a friend. Wish it could have been longer. Absolutely loved everything about this boutique hotel - from the wonderful warm welcome of the hosts Katrina and Brenda, to the absolutely divine restoration they have completed. The rooms are all unique and gorgeous - amazingly styled and great attention to details. It felt such a privilege to stay somewhere so special. I'm already thinking about how I can visit again! Thanks for a lovely experience."

Stunning B&B
with wonderful hospitality
"Casa Nova is a luxurious, beautiful, and comfortable B&B. The hosts carefully restored the building with incredible attention to detail. The bedroom felt luxurious with very comfortable, high-quality bedding, and a small balcony with a view over the grounds and across Oamaru with the ocean in the distance. I especially loved the high-pressure shower. The hosts, Brenda and Katrina, excel in hosting, as well, making us feel very welcome during our two-night stay and sharing many tips...With only three guest rooms, the hosts attend to carefully to everyone, and the delicious hot breakfast is fully customized based on each guest's preference. Casa Nova is a lovely accommodation and was a highlight of our trip around the South Island of New Zealand. We highly recommend staying here when in Oamaru."
